"Once Upon A Time In Bourbonnais: Take two!"

The primary purpose of the Bourbonnais Friendship Festival, Inc. is to conduct the annual Bourbonnais Friendship Festival in Bourbonnais, Illinois for civic, patriotic, educational and social purposes;  for activities related to the organization; and fundraising for Friendship Festival activities.  It is further intended to promote the preservation of regional customs and traditions and to provide good, wholesome, fun activities and entertainment in a family atmosphere.

The secondary purpose is in anticipation of generating funds for local community and/or local family oriented projects and to promote well-being, health and safety.

Vaccinations Available at Bourbonnais Friendship Festival

The Kankakee County Health Department, in partnership with Amita Health St.  Mary’s Hospital Kankakee and Bourbonnais Friendship Festival, will host a COVID-19 vaccination  clinic Saturday, June 26th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome for the clinic in the  Community Room located downstairs within the Bourbonnais Municipal Center at 700 Main  Street NW. Pre-registration is not required but can be completed via the Kankakee County Health Department Facebook page beginning June 11th.  

The Johnson & Johnson one-dose vaccination will be available for ages 18 years and older. The  Pfizer two-dose vaccination will be available for ages 12 years and older. The first dose of the  Pfizer vaccine will be administered at the Saturday, June 26th clinic and the second dose on  Monday, July 19th at the Kankakee County Health Department located at 2390 W. Station St. in  Kankakee. 

Clinic attendees are asked to bring identification for age verification. Minors needs to be  accompanied by an adult or legal guardian. No proof of health insurance is needed to receive the  vaccine. 

“As the largest-attended event held in Bourbonnais, the Friendship Festival Committee felt the  opportunity to host a vaccination clinic was important to the overall health and wellness of the  community,” explained Bourbonnais Friendship Festival Chairman, Bob Steinke. “We want to  make it convenient. Get vaccinated, get some festival food, listen to some local talent, hop on the  carnival rides and safely enjoy the family-friendly event.”
